What’s it like to live in LifeX?

In short, awesome! Want to be super social? You can do that. Want space for yourself? You can do that too. We welcome extroverts and introverts. The layout of our apartments ensure that there is always plenty of space for you to recede to. Community is our top priority, so we have several events for our members to participate in including Game of Thrones night, game nights and dinners.

Can I used LifeX as my permanent address?

Yes, you can use it as permanent address for CPR registration. 

Where do LifeX members come from?

LifeX members come from all over the world. In all, we have 20+ nationalities includng Danes, with professions ranging from tech, consulting, art, teaching, etc. Most are between 25-40 yrs age, but we also have couple of them that are closer to 50 yrs age. We love diversity and promote environments where members get to see different perspectives.

What’s expected of me?

This is a co-living community, so keeping the place clean and helping others is a must. We have a very high standard for service so it is important that the place is maintained well. Also, respect other members, their property and try to take part in social events like weekly dinners, etc.

What’s the membership process?

When you reach out to us, we will schedule a call and there will be an evaluation to see how you will fit LifeX. Once approved, you just have to give your membership deposit to hold a spot. Membership fees are due only the day before you start with us.

How big are these apartments?

Most of our apartments are around 300-350 m2 with couple around 250 m2. Each has a nice eat in kitchen and a big living area, giving you plenty of space to hangout. Laundry is in the apartment itself, making it very convenient.

How many people live in each location?

Depending on the size of the apartment, you will have anywhere from 6 to 8 people in each house, meaning that each member typically has around 40-50m2 of total space. Each member has their own room with everything furnished, serviced and cleaned, so you just have to move in with your suitcase

How big are the rooms?

Typical room range for single membership:
X Small (7-10 msq): 8K DKK
Small (10-12 msq): 8.5K DKK
Medium (12-15 msq): 9.5K DKK
Large (15-20 msq): 10K DKK

Typical room range for couples membership:
Medium (20-23 msq): 11K DKK
Large (23-25 msq): 12K DKK

When is the typical start date?

Start dates are always 1st or 15th of the month. The membership is prorated, so you don’t have to worry about price difference.

How does cooking work?

It’s your home and you have full access to the kitchen. It is completely stocked with all the essentials like pots, pans, utensils, etc. There are basic spices and oil as shared supplies. People cook at different times, so you still have personal space for yourself.

Do I have to join sunday house dinners/brunches?

House dinners are there for people to get to know each other. They are completely optional, but we would like you all to get to know other members. It is designed to be a potluck to make it easy and you can invite friends from outside as long as you just slack and let others know ahead of time.

Can my boyfriend/girlfriend/friend/sister etc. visit and stay over?

This is your home, so you can definitely have guests come over the weekend, you just have to give heads up to others in your apartment so they are not surprised. Also if it is any time longer than 2-3, let the ops team know and we will take it on a case by case basis.

What about my friends, who want to come over for dinner?

This is your home, so you are welcome to invite friends over for lunch, dinner, etc. Just give others a heads up and be mindful of the noise after 10 PM. You can always take the fun to a general area with closed doors to take it to the bar

What are the contract policies?

1. A signed contract is needed to hold a room
2. Membership starts on the date stated on the contract and not based on arrival dates. 
3. There is a 30 day cancellation notice. If you cancel less than 30 days from the contract start date, we keep your deposit. If you cancel less than 14 days before contract start date, in addition to keeping your deposit, we will also keep half of your first month's membership.

What are the membership termination policies?

You have to be at LifeX for two months minimum. You can terminate your membership at any time with one month notice as long as it is before the end of the previous month. For example, if you would like to end January 31st, then the notice should be given before the end of December.
