Bethnal Green
Sandwiched between Hackney to the north, Bow to the east, Whitechapel to the south and Shoreditch to the west is Bethnal Green in the East London Borough of Tower Hamlets. A former farming hamlet and hub of the weaving industry, the area was heavily bombed during the Blitz. In spite of the devastation the area saw during World War II, Bethnal Green picked itself up and dusted itself off to become the thriving, culturally diverse heart of the East End that it is today. With a steady influx of creative types and city workers priced out of popular Shoreditch, Spitalfields and Hackney, Bethnal Green still offers affordable housing options despite its proximity to central London and nearby Liverpool Street which is only a short walk away.
Around the apartment
Victoria sits on the eastern edge of the trendiest part of London, Bethnal Green. You're close enough to get easily involved in the social centre of london - the bar and restaurant culture of Shoreditch - with enough space to live in peace a beautiful old home straight out of Victorian England. Untouched by The Blitz, northern Bow has some of London's most beautiful streets and cosy pubs. Right next to the home is the beautiful, enormous Victoria park, with Chinese Pagoda and rowing boats to rent. In just short walk you will reach the Olympic stadium and Westfields, one of the biggest shopping centres in Europe. There is also the tallest slide in the world for those seeking an extra adventure. For the more cultured, the emerging artistic scene in Hackney Wick is unrivalled in London. For those that enjoy being active, nearby is the famous Mile End Climbing Wall, and right next to the canal for long bike rides or a calm Sunday afternoon walks
