LifeX members come from all over the world and a big range of professions. In all, we have 50+ nationalities with occupations ranging from tech, consulting, art, teaching, etc.
Most members are between 25-35 yrs old, but we believe that age is just a number. We love diversity and promote environments where members get to meet people from different backgrounds and broaden their horizons.
That depends on the amount of people in the house, but most of our apartments are around 250-350 sqm and generally have 4 up to 7 private rooms. Each home has a modern kitchen, a dining area with enough space for everyone to sit and a spacious living room with a flat-screen tv. Some rooms have a private bathroom and others share one or more bathrooms. Generally, bathrooms are shared with 1 or 2 other people. All homes have in-house laundry facilities and most have extra storage space.
Room sizes range from 7 to 40 sqm. All rooms are fully furnished and decorated.
Generally, bathrooms are shared with 1 or 2 other people, but this can vary from apartment to apartment. The amount of bathrooms is mentioned with each apartment on our listing page and are also marked on the floor plans.
All our apartments and rooms are fully furnished, equipped and decorated to be completely ready for you to move in and immediately feel at home.
In the living room, you can expect a cosy lounge area with a TV to hang out together and watch films. There will be a dining area with enough space for everyone to sit and enjoy dinners and the kitchens are fully equipped with anything you need. We also try to provide as many standard accessories as possible, so you don't have to worry or bring anything when you move in. From kitchen appliances to utensils, cutlery, vases, mixers, toast machines, plates, pans, cups, hairdryers, steam irons, and more.
The private rooms come fully furnished and decorated as well:
- Bed: Single rooms generally have a 140x200cm bed including duvets and sheets. Couples rooms have a 180x200cm bed.*
- Storage space: All rooms have a cabinet with both hangers and drawers and extra storage space in boxes under the bed.
- Desk: All rooms come with a desk and a desk chair*.
* Please note that in some of the smallest rooms the bed might be 120x200cm for single or 160x200cm for couples and there might be a small or no desk.
We would love to show you our homes, but we also want to provide privacy to our current members. That's why don't offer viewings. Instead, we provide detailed pictures of our apartments and rooms, as well as 3D floor plans on our website here, so you can get a good idea of what the apartment is like. If you have any specific question or anything is not clear, we would be happy to answer your question per email or on a call.

The main purpose of the LifeX community is to make it possible for people—regardless of background—to feel comfortable and at home with their housemates, and have the opportunity to build long-lasting, authentic relationships.
As the community is a core foundation for LifeX, we host monthly events and sponsored activities to allow members the opportunity to meet other members and expand their networks, find people with similar hobbies, and just have fun.
To ensure member’s get to know their housemates when they move in, LifeX sponsors a welcome dinner for each new member and their housemates.
The LifeX member app offers various features that enables the community to engage with each-other, as well as the LifeX team.
Among other things, the LifeX app offers the ability for members to find/comment/like and create events hosted by LifeX and other members. It also offers the ability for members to talk to their housemates in their house group, and even browse each other’s profiles. Most importantly, the LifeX app facilitates communication between members and the LifeX team - be it updates from our operations team, or reaching out to us via the chat to suggest any feedback you may have for us.
Unfortunately, our apartments are currently not suitable for families with kids.
We LOVE pets, but unfortunately, we don't have any animal-friendly apartments available at the moment.
Our apartments are your home, so you can definitely have guests come over as long as they stay only a few days (up to 5 days) and everyone in the home is fine with it. If guests stay longer than 5 days, we would like to be informed and we will take it on a case by case basis.
You are welcome to invite friends over for lunch, dinner, etc. as long as your housemates are okay with it. Just give others a heads up and be mindful of the noise after 10 pm. You can always take the fun to a general area with closed doors or take it to the bar.
Yes! The flexibility of living is one of the things we strive for here at LifeX. We allow anyone to move to another apartment after 2 months of your stay and with a minimum stay of 2 months in the new room. Once you're a LifeX member, you always have the first pick on available rooms.
Definitely! One cool feature within LifeX is the ability to swap rooms with members in other cities for a small holiday. For example, are you interested in visiting Paris, meeting other members there, and still feel at home? Then you can submit a request in our app and connect with LifeX members in other cities.
Contract & pricing
The monthly price depends on the city, the apartment, and the room. You can see all our available rooms including the prices here.
Our prices are all-inclusive so you only need to pay one fixed amount each month for housing and don't need to worry about anything else. The price includes the rent, utilities, wireless internet, maintenance, services and housing taxes.
Our deposits vary from city to city and are generally a little bit less than one month's rent. If the room is in the same state as when you moved in, the deposit will be fully refunded 10 days after your contract had ended.
We don't charge any move-in fees. To book a room, you only pay the rent and a deposit.
Yes, you can register and use LifeX as your permanent address.

Application & moving in
Simply sign up on our website, you will get the option to book a time for a short call in our calendar. This call is meant to make sure you have all the information you need and discuss the options based on your preferences. After the call, we can book a room for you right away or add you to our waiting list, allowing you to reach out and book a room easily later.
Are you still in the exploring phase and don't want to book a room right away? No worries! On the call, our team can set you up in our system so that when you are ready to make your move, all you need to do is check our availability online and get in touch with us to book the room. Our team can also help you to decide which room or apartment would fit you the best.
In Copenhagen, you can move in on any day of the week as we are using a key sharing service, which will enable you to pick up your key with a personal code.
For the other cities, we have different solutions at our disposal. Just let our team know what day you would prefer to move in, and we will try to facilitate that.
The move-in time is after 3 PM in all of our cities. This allows us to make sure your room will be ready for you until your move-in. If your planned arrival time is before 3 PM, then you can easily reach out to our team in our app and check if you can move in earlier.
